Eastern Echoes : Where the Hills Sing

The sun rises late in Noklak. It has to climb over the mountains first!

For generations, our stories have done the same - climbing, waiting, trying to be heard beyond the hills.

I am Thangsoi Shoughanshiu. And this is Eastern Echoes.

This isn't just a blog. It's a fire we're lighting for Nagaland. For Eastern Nagaland. For the voices that get lost in the noise of the modern world.

Here, you will find:

↦ Old stories our grandparents told us under thatch roofs

↦ New stories of young people building lives in the hills and beyond

↦ Hard stories about change, identity, and what it means to belong

↦ Quiet stories - of a mother's prayer, a farmer's morning, a song half-remembered

The world knows Nagaland for its beautiful landscapes. I want them to know us for our voice.

Some echoes are loud. Some are whispers. But they all deserve to be heard and felt.

This site was built from a small room in Nokhu. It took 5 registrars, 3 days, and a fight with every error the internet could throw at me. But the hills are stubborn. And so am I.

Welcome to Eastern Echoes.

Pull up a chair. The stories start now!
