Where the Sun Waits

In our part of the world, we don't chase the sun.

We wait for it.

It rises when the mountains let it. It sets when the clouds are ready to catch fire. Between those two moments, we live our lives - farming, praying, remembering, hoping.

I took this photo from near my home. No filter. No tripod. Just a phone, and a sky that decided to show off.

The world thinks Noklak is remote. They call us the "Frontier District."

But watch a sunset here and you'll understand: We are not at the edge of India. We are at the edge of heaven.

The light doesn't rush in these hills. It lingers. And when it leaves, it paints every cloud so we don't forget it was here.

Moments like this don't belong to me alone. They belong to every son and daughter of these mountains who ever looked up and felt small, yet proud to belong here.

The hills are not silent. They're just waiting for you to listen!
